Asheville Therapists

Therapy in Asheville for high-functioning individuals seeking deeper self-trust, meaning, and healthier relationships.

Compassionate & Holistic Counseling with an Asheville Therapist

Not all Asheville therapists are the same. I’ve provided psychotherapy and counseling for individuals from various walks of life here in Western North Carolina for over fifteen years. My work is relational, holistic, and designed to support your whole self: mind, body, emotions, and relationships.

My hope is that the space that we co-create will be a place that you can talk about what’s on your mind, revisit experiences that require deeper processing, and feel safe enough to be emotionally honest. I aim to support youas you heal the disconnections within, stop overfunctioning and start living from self-trust and ease.

My Approach to Therapy in Asheville

I describe my style as warm and engaging. I am genuinely curious about people, behavior, relationships and patterns. This is just part of who I am and what makes me tick. You might say I chose the right career to exploit these innate qualities. (And I’d agree!)

The therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in any experience of therapy, so taking good care of our relationship is of utmost importance to me. I want to know who you are, what you’re struggling with, and what you want instead. I want to understand your history, your priorities, and your perspective.

Some people want “trick and tips” for how to better cope with challenges. Others need insight when it comes to healthy relating, boundary setting or effective communication. Many of my clients want a good listener who can help with thinking things through, establishing priorities, or keeping them accountable. Still others want to heal insecure attachment and need a steady, trusted guide for the work of healing relational trauma.

My approach to therapy is to be a compassionate and practical presence as you grow through what you go through.

How We Can Work Together

Women's Therapy Asheville

Therapy for Women

For sensitive, high-achieving women who feel overwhelmed, burned out, or stuck in people-pleasing.

If you’re the one others rely on, but you secretly feel depleted, individual therapy offers a space to soften, reflect, and rebuild your relationship with yourself.

Therapy for Elders

For elders in their 60s and 70s who are struggling in relationships with others or in your relationship to yourself. If you’re dealing with inner conflict, grief, or questions about meaning as you reflect on your life, and you’d like support, I invite you to reach out.

Therapy for Men

This is not therapy that pathologizes you or asks you to “fix” yourself. It’s a relational, emotionally intelligent process that helps you understand how your nervous system, attachment patterns, and early experiences shape how you show up in relationships today.

Looking for Therapists in Asheville? Here's why you should work with me:

Engagement:

I bring a natural curiousity and desire to better understand you and your situation. (Give me the deets!) While I value empathy, I’m also aware that when you’re struggling, sometimes empathy isn’t enough – you want direction, too.

Presence:

I’m an experienced meditator and yogi, and that informs the quality of my presence and how I show up in the room with you. (In my Asheville therapy practice, I also teach mindfulness to interested clients.)

Experience:

Over fifteen years of being a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor I’ve honed my skills in providing skillful clinical support. With close to fifty years of lived experience, I’m also someone who can relate to the changes that can occur during the life cycle.
