Depth-Oriented Psychotherapy for High-Achieving Women

I offer women’s therapy in North Carolina for women who are outwardly capable and inwardly searching. Women who have built meaningful lives, yet sense something essential has been lost, muted, or is lying dormant within them.

Over my fifteen years in practice, I have worked with creative, passionate, strong, smart women. On the surface, these women lead enviable lives. They are artists, professionals, entrepreneurs, executives, teachers, students and leaders. They are also wives, partners, mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts and dedicated friends. These women care deeply about the people and passions that populate their lives and hearts.

Sometimes, this care takes the form of responsibility as is the case when caregiving for children or older parents becomes a main focus. Sometimes, the caregiving for others is compulsive. It can encompass not only those in physical need, but can also include emotionally caregiving others in a way that, over time, leads to self-abandonment. For many women, this chronic self-sacrifice leads to a loss of inner clarity, self-trust or vitality.

When that happens, she often needs the gentle support of a guide to help her find her way back to herself. I work with women everyday who have lost themselves in thier relationships with others.

While my practice is based in Asheville, I work with women across North Carolina and in Florida through secure online therapy, offering depth-oriented, relational psychotherapy for those seeking greater self-trust, meaning, and emotional integrity.

Therapy for Women Who Are Amazing at Taking Responsibility…

Many of the women who seek women’s therapy in North Carolina with me are:

  • professionals, entrepreneurs, and leaders
  • mothers and caregivers who hold emotional responsibility for others
  • women accustomed to being the “strong one”
  • women who are accomplished (and quietly weary)

You may be struggling with:

  • chronic self-sacrifice or people-pleasing
  • resentment or emotional loneliness in relationships
  • difficulty trusting yourself or making decisions
  • family dynamics that still shape your inner life
  • a loss of meaning, desire, or aliveness

These struggles are not signs of failure.
They are often signals that something deeper is asking for attention.

Relational and Reflective Women’s Therapy

This work is not focused on surface level strategies.

It’s about a deeper understanding of how you show up for your life and your relationships today. And, how you learned to relate in your earliest experiences of connection, or disconnection.

Women’s therapy in North Carolina with me is relational, reflective, and grounded in understanding why certain patterns persist and what it means to live more truthfully within your life and relationships.

Our work may explore:

  • relational and attachment patterns

  • family-of-origin dynamics

  • chronic over-responsibility and self-abandonment

  • identity shifts and midlife transitions

  • questions of meaning, purpose, and self-authority

This is therapy for women who want more than coping.

It’s for women who want to come home to themselves.

What Women’s Therapy in Asheville Can Offer You

You’ve read all of the books on boundaries and intellectually, you get it. But something keeps compelling you back to that old pattern of setting your needs and wants aside…

Perhaps you don’t want to make anyone else uncomfortable…

Or you can make the accommodation, so you might as well make it, right?

Or you feel wracked with guilt and shame for needing something that’s different from what that other person (your mom, your spouse, your sister or boss) wants that it’s easier to just suck it up and do what they want…

And then, the anger and resentment creeps in…

Sound familiar?

I’ve been there. And I know that navigating all of this alone can be incredibly challenging.

I am here to support you as you:

  • Learn to discern the sound of your inner voice / your intuition
  • Look at how perfectionism, people-pleasing, and over-responsibility developed
  • Explore what your nervous system needs to feel safe enough to rest
  • Learn to create boundaries and work with guilt and shame when they arise
  • Finally begin to receive, not just give, in relationships

You Don’t Have to Do This Alone

The truth is: you’ve done enough alone.

Not performance, but presence.
Not fixing, but feeling.
